Building For Generation X

It seems to be a growing trend that more and more home-builders’ are announcing entry-level brands that target millennials. Others are focusing on the needs of the baby boomer. What we haven’t seen a lot of is a home that is steered to the needs of Generation X, defined as those born between the mid 60’s and early 80’s.

As a smaller segment of the overall population, Gen Xer’s seem to get overlooked. What seems to be true about them is that they want what most new home owners want – a modern open floor plan, an up to date kitchen with stainless steel appliances and modern durable finishings. They’re growing families that are raising kids and often multi-generational families caring for aging parents.

What this says is that the homes they are seeking need to fit them, and their often complex individual needs. They need to be functional and flex to meet and compliment their individual lifestyles.

Paquin Design Build has recently introduced a sister company, Beacon Point Homes. Beacon Pointe was launched with these same ideas in mind. With 15 years in the homebuilding industry, we realized there was a need for a home that was modern and open and that offers the space to accommodate the needs of the modern family.

Beacon Pointe home designs range from just under 1,000 square feet to 2,500 square feet of open livable space and can be built on a lot that you own or in one of our communities. We are currently offering Beacon Pointe Homes in the community of St. Michaels Pointe on Talbot Street in St. Michaels.

For more information on Beacon Pointe homes, visit our website at beaconpointehomes.com or call our office at 410-643-7811.

To read more about home builders and the Gen X generation you can find it in Builder magazine’s August 2018 issue.
